KCAC Football Players of the Week

Wichita, Kan. – McPherson College’s Jake Snodgrass (Junior, Derby, Kan.) totaled 319 yards of offense to earn Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week honors. Ottawa University’s Dakotah Gettler (Senior, Fort Scott, Kan.) with a blocked field goal and Taylor Sachs (Freshman, Georgetown, Tex.) who blocked a punt, also earn weekly honors.

Offensive Player of the Week belongs to McPherson College’s Quarterback Jake Snodgrass. The 5-10, 165 lb. Junior accounted for 319 of McPherson’s 404 offensive yards on Saturday. Snodgrass completed 17 of 28 passing attempts, throwing for 228 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed 10 times for 91 yards as the Bulldogs defeated Tabor College 28 to 12. With the win, McPherson moves to 3 and 3 in the KCAC.

Dakotah Gettler is awarded Defensive Player of the Week as Ottawa University wins their sixth straight game. The 6-1, 225 lb. Senior Linebacker recorded six solo tackles, assisted on six other tackles, had one tackle for a loss, and blocked a field goal. The Braves defense did not allow an offensive score as they defeated Sterling College 27 to 6.

Kansas Wesleyan Freshman Taylor Sachs earns Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in a 68 to 7 away victory over the Bethel College Threshers. The 5-9, 165 lb Running Back blocked a Tabor Punt, recovered the football and ran for a 19-yard touchdown. During the kickoff that followed his touchdown Sachs forced a fumble that was recovered by the Coyotes, ultimately leading to a KWU field goal.

All KCAC Players of the Week will also be nominated for NAIA National Player of the Week honors, which will be announced later this week.
