NCAA 1-AA NATIONAL OFFENSIVE TRAVIS LULAY, SR. QB, 6'2, 205. MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY: Lulay rolled up 425 yards of total offense and rallied the MSU Bobcats to a 27-24 victory over Weber State. He rushed for a career-high 142 yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter as he engineered his 10th career second-half comeback. He tied the score with 4:41 to play on a 1-yard plunge. Lulay finished 18-for-41 for 283 yards passing.
NCAA 1-AA NATIONAL OFFENSIVE ZACK TERRELL, FR. RB, 6'0, 185. LIBERTY UNIVERSITY: During the week, the Flames' coaching staff converted back-up quarterback Zack Terrell to running back and the true freshman got his first career running back start against Chattanooga. Terrell rushed for 241 yards on 32 carries (7.5 yards per carry) and two touchdowns in the tough loss to Chattanooga, 24-21. In addition, he caught two passes for eight yards. The 241 rushing yards is the second best in Big South Conference history.
NCAA 1-AA NATIONAL OFFENSIVE RICHIE WILLIAMS, SR. QB, 6'3, 190. APPALACHIAN STATE UNIVERSITY: Williams led the Mountaineers in ASU's 34-31 loss to No. 6-ranked Furman. He completed 23-of-31 passes for 272 yards and picked up 124 rushing yards, giving him 6,059 career passing yards and 1.078 career rushing yards. His 7,137 career yards of total offense broke the ASU record of 7,129, set by Steve Brown from 1977-80. Williams became the first player in Southern Conference history to accumulate at least 6,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards.
NCAA 1-AA NATIONAL DEFENSIVE BRIAN BRUNETTE, SR. LB, 6'3 245. UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND: Brunette collected a career-best 14 tackles and returned his first career interception 31 yards for a touchdown in Richmond's 38-20 win over Villanova. He had a pair of tackles behind the line of scrimmage, including a sack. Nine of his tackles were unassisted.
NCAA 1-AA NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS TAYLOR BROWN, SR. PK, 6'2, 205. UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT MARTIN: Brown accounted for 14 points in UT Martin's 46-14 win over Tennessee Tech, converting all five extra point tries and going 3-for-3 in the field goal department with boots of 46, 28 and 38 yards. For the year he is a perfect 21-of-21 in extra point kicks and has converted 26 consecutive PAT tries dating back to last year. The 14 kicking points tied a school record first set in 1976.
NCAA 1-AA NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS STEVE MORGAN. SO. K, 6'0, 170. BROWN UNIVERSITY: Morgan booted 3-of-3 field goals (22, 30 and 48 yards) in the rain against Fordham in a 37-14 win over the Rams. His 48-yard field goal is the fourth longest field goal in Brown history, and the longest since Bob Granfors' 48-yard field goal in 1979. He was also 4-for-4 on extra point kicks. No kicker in the nation (Divisions 1-A and 1-AA) averages as many points as Morgan (12.25).
NCAA 1-AA NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS PARKER DOUGLASS. SO. PK, 5'8, 170. SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY: Douglass kicked three field goals and an extra point in SDSU's victory over UC Davis, 16-14. His middle field goal was a school-record 54-yarder. Earlier in the game, he connected from 55 yards, but the play was nullified by a holding penalty after which he just missed from 65 yards. His other good kicks were from 38 and 32 yards.
NCAA 1-AA NATIONAL OFFENSIVE LINEMAN NEVIN McCASKILL, JR, OT, 6'4, 293. HAMPTON UNIVERSITY: McCaskill graded out at 85-percent on all assignments and recorded five pancake blocks to help the Pirates rack up 433 total yards, including 325 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns in the Pirates 52-21 win at Garner-Webb.
NCAA 1-AA MID-MAJOR NATIONAL OFFENSIVE MILES AUSTIN, SR. WR, 6'3, 230. MONMOUTH (NJ) UNIVERSITY: Austin logged 10 receptions for 235 yards and four touchdowns to lead Monmouth to a 45-14 win over Sacred Heart. He broke his own record for receiving yards (228) and touchdown receptions (3). On the season, Austin has amassed 836 receiving yards through five games, leads 1-AA in receiving yards per game (167.20) and is poised to become just the third conference receiver to ever eclipse 1,000 yards in a season. Sacred Heart's DeVeren Johnson posted 1,157 yards in 2001 and Monmouth's Anthony Galella collected 1,044 yards in 1998.
NCAA 1-AA MID-MAJOR NATIONAL DEFENSIVE MIKE JONES. SR, SS, 6'3, 195. VALPARAISO UNIVERSITY: Jones had a hand in three of the nine turnovers in the 34-21 loss to Saint Joseph's. He finished the game with 10 tackles, one tackle for loss, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and a pass breakup.
NCAA 1-AA MID-MAJOR NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS BRAD SMITH, JR, PK, 6'0, 170, DAVIDSON COLLEGE: Smith made both of his field goal attempts, including a career-best 43-yarder, and made all three PAT's to score nine points in Davidson's 44-6 victory over Austin Peay. Smith made his career-long despite sloppy field conditions.
NCAA 1-AA MID-MAJOR NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS FRED WEINGART, SO. PK, 6'1, 170, MONMOUTH (NJ) UNIVERSITY: Weingart made field goals of 38 and 36 yards and hit on all five of his extra point kicks as the Hawks posted a 45-14 win over Sacred Heart. He broke a school record in the process, including the most consecutive made point-after attempts to start a career (23) and the most PAT's during the course of a season.
NCAA II NATIONAL OFFENSIVE ANTIONE JONES, SR. RB, 5'9, 190. MARS HILL COLLEGE: Jones rushed for a school best 322 yards on 33 carries in leading Mars Hill to a 33-21 win over Lenoir-Rhyne. Jones yardage was also the second-best single-game mark in league history (Lenoir-Rynes' Leonard Davis holds the mark with 344 yards against Gardner-Webb in 1993). Jones averaged 9.8 yards per rush and caught three passes for 10 yards. He also had a 20-yard kickoff return.
NCAA II NATIONAL OFFENSIVE LORENZO PERRY, JR. RB, 5'6, 180. BRYANT COLLEGE: Perry rushed for a school record 313 yards and two touchdowns on 40 carries to lead Bryant to a come from behind win over Stonehill 24-12. He also caught two passes for 27 yards and in the process set a school record with 340 total yards of offense.
NCAA II NATIONAL OFFENSIVE DANNY WOODHEAD, SO. RB, 5'9, 195. CHADRON STATE COLLEGE: Woodhead rushed 37 times for 304 yards (8.2 ypc) with three touchdowns, in a 36-24 home win over Mesa State. His 304 yards on the ground are just two shy of his CSC single-game record that he set versus Bemidji State last year. Woodhead, who led all of NCAA Division II in rushing last season (184.0 ypg, 25 TDs), has now rushed for more than 200 yards in seven of his 17 career games.
NCAA II NATIONAL DEFENSIVE VINCENT DELANEY, JR. FS, 6'2, 200. STONEHILL COLLEGE: Delaney registered a career-high 20 total tackles (11 solo) and recorded a pair of interceptions in the 24-12 loss at Bryant. It was the fourth-highest single-game tackles total in school history.
NCAA II NATIONAL DEFENSIVE DEANDRAE FILLMORE, SR. LB, 5'9, 220. TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY AT KINGSVILLE: Fillmore collected a season-high 18 tackles, with a forced fumble, blocked a kick and intercepted a pass that he returned 36 yards for the Javelinas' first touchdown in a 41-38 win at Central Oklahoma. He has now forced four fumbles, intercepted two passes and scored three touchdowns this season.
NCAA II NATIONAL DEFENSIVE ANTWAN THOMAS, R-FR. LB. 5'10, 192 PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE: Thomas led No. 23 Presbyterian to a 37-3 victory over No. 11 Carson-Newman on the road. He led the defense with 12 stops (seven solo), including four tackles for loss (-17 yards), two sacks (-14 yards), one interception and two fumble recoveries returning one 20 yards for a touchdown.
NCAA II NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS MIKAEL BJORK, SR, PK, 6'1, 205. FORT LEWIS COLLEGE: Just three weeks after breaking the Skyhawks school record for the longest field goal in a game, Bjork kicked a 59 yarder while adding two 47-yard field goals during FLC's 51-20 home victory over Fort Hays State, 51-20. He was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal attempt and 6-for-6 in PATs. Five of his seven field goals made have been 47 yards or longer.
NCAA II NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS RICARLO ROSS. SR. RB/DB/KR, 5'10, 190. WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY TECH: Ross returned three kickoffs for 124 yards, including a 90-yard effort for a touchdown in WVU Tech's 57-31 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan. The newly converted running back also rushed for 124 yards and on defense he added four tackles.
NCAA II NATIONAL OFFENSIVE LINEMAN RAYMOND McNEIL, SR. OG, 6'2, 295. FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY: McNeil provided key blocks to help FVSU record 333 yards of total offense (198 rushing and 135 passing) in 56 plays as FVSU defeated Kentucky St. 22-12.
NCAA III NATIONAL OFFENSIVE JOE DiMIGLIO, SR. QB, 6'3, 213. WESTERN CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY: DiMiglio threw for five touchdowns in the Colonials' 50-49 overtime loss at Springfield. On the day, he was 32-of-50 for 452 yards passing. DiMiglio, who has thrown for 11 touchdowns in the past two weeks, currently ranks second in the NJAC in both passing yards per game (262.8) and passer efficiency rating (140.0).
NCAA III NATIONAL OFFENSIVE BOB FAULDS. JR. QB, 6'0, 180. RIPON COLLEGE: Faulds played a part in six scores and accounted for over 300 yards of offense during the Red Hawks 39-21 victory over Illinois College. He carried the ball 27 times for 173 yards and five touchdowns. He also completed 10-of-19 passes for 186 yards, including a 53-yard TD pass.
NCAA III NATIONAL OFFENSIVE JORDAN STOLP. SO. QB, 6'3. 193. GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS COLLEGE: Stolp completed 20-of-38 passes for 252 yards and five touchdowns. He also had seven carries for 21 yards and one touchdown. Stolp played a part in all 42 points as he also converted all six PATs in the Gusties win over Augsburg 42-27.
NCAA III NATIONAL OFFENSIVE STEVE WASIL. SR. QB, 6'3. 203. ALBION COLLEGE: Wasil threw five touchdown passes while completing 19-of 34 passes for 362 yards in the Britons' 73-0 rout of Tri-State. He also ran for a touchdown.
NCAA III NATIONAL DEFENSIVE JOHN DAVIS, SR. LB. 6'0, 194. SAINT OLAF COLLEGE: Davis returned two interceptions for touchdowns and recovered a fumble in the Oles' 44-14 win over Carleton. His first interception he returned 45 yards for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead. His second, with the score 30-14, gave the Oles a three score advantage. Davis had two tackles, broke up another two pass plays and recovered a fumble.
NCAA III NATIONAL DEFENSIVE KEITH HANSON, SR. DB. 5'8, 170. LAKE FOREST COLLEGE: Hanson added to his MWC interception lead by picking off his fourth and fifth balls of the season in a 28-14 victory over Knox. Hanson, who notched five total tackles and one tackle for loss, returned one of the interceptions for a touchdown before having it called back on an illegal block. He also blocked a 23-yard field goal attempt and broke up a pair of passes. Hanson totaled 45 yards in return yardage.
NCAA III NATIONAL DEFENSIVE ADRIAN PYNENBERG, SO. LB, 5'10, 213. WABASH COLLEGE: Pynenberg made nine tackles (seven solo), including 3.5 tackles for a loss of 22 yards, 2.5 sacks, one hurry, two pass breakups and one interception in a 42-7 win over Oberlin.
NCAA III NATIONAL DEFENSIVE CLIFF SIMS, JR, DB, 6'1, 181. OLIVET (MI) COLLEGE: Sims intercepted three passes, returning them for 60 yards in the Comets' 31-24 victory over Hope. He also had five solo tackles and broke up a pass.
NCAA III NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS JOHN GOMULSKI, SR. P/K. 5'10, 190. WESTMINSTER (MO) COLLEGE: Gomulski recorded six punts for 278 yards, averaging 46.3 yards per punt with three punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line in a 35-20 victory over Blackburn. With a long of 57 yards.
NCAA III NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS PHIL SCRIVER, JR. P. 6'0, 175. MARTIN LUTHER COLLEGE: Scriver punted eight times for 343 yards, averaging 42.9 yards per punt, with two punts over 50 yards, including a long of 57 yards and landing four inside the 20-yard line as the Knights' defeated Minnesota-Morris 16-8.
NCAA III NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS JEREMY SEETON, SR. P/K. 6'1, 190. EAST TEXAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY: Seeton drilled a game-winning 22-yard field goal with two seconds left in game to lift ETBU to a 17-16 upset of No. 14-ranked Texas Lutheran. He also added an average of 41.4 yards on seven punts, putting two inside the 20-yard line. He had a long punt of 55 yards.
NAIA NATIONAL OFFENSIVE LARRY ALDRIDGE, SR. RB. 5'7, 180. DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY: Aldridge had 230 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in leading the Blue Hawks to a 29-7 victory over Minot state. For the game he had 32 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns and added a p[aior of receptions for 48 yards.
NAIA NATIONAL OFFENSIVE JAMES JACKSON, JR. RB, 5'9, 215. WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY: Jackson recorded 35 carries for 222 yards and three touchdowns as William Penn defeated St. Francis IL 42-21. He had touchdown runs of 3, 2 and 34 yards.
NAIA NATIONAL DEFENSIVE JOSIAH CRAVALHO, SO. CB. 5'10, 195. EVANGEL UNIVERSITY: Cravalho totaled six tackles, including four initial hits. He also returned an interception for 35 yards and a touchdown that gave Evangel the lead (14-7) which the Crusaders would never relinquish. In addition, Cravalho had one tackle for a loss of one yard and two pass breakups in the 24-10 win against Lindenwood.
NAIA NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS PHILIP SCHROER, FR. DB/ST, 6'2, 175. NEBRASKA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY: Schroer had a great day on special teams in Nebraska Wesleyan's 19-12 overtime win over Doane. He blocked an extra point that was returned by teammate Curtis Coatman for a defensive two-point conversion. Later he recovered a fumbled punt return that resulted in a Prairie Wolves field goal. He then blocked a Doane 31 yard field goal attempt in the fourth quarter to keep the game tied 12-12.
NAIA NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS NATE TURNBULL, JR. PK, 5'11, 160. WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY: Turnbull booted field goals of 35, 25 and 34 yards as William Penn posted a 42-28 win over St. Francis IL. He also kicked three extra points and recorded eight kickoffs for 336 yards and a long of 61 yards. He is now six-of-seven in field goal attempts this season.
NCCAA NATIONAL OFFENSIVE JIMMY WERBIN, SR. QB, 6'2, 230. MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY: Werbin completed 29-of-52 passes for 332 yards and a touchdown as MNU defeated Avila 23-0. He also had eight carries for 28 yards and a touchdown.
NCCAA NATIONAL DEFENSIVE TOM TADYCH, JR. DB, 5'8, 150. NORTHWESTER (MN) COLLEGE: Tadych totaled five tackles and three interceptions in the Eagles' 47-14 win at Macalester. All three of his interceptions took place in the second quarter and were returned for a total of 69 yards.
